Hi all! I am beyond excited… I have just been handed a MASSIVE slice of my childhood in the form of a Commodore Amiga 600 with a load of games. It looks a bit of a dusty mess and only has the power cable and mouse but ITS MINE 🤩
Now I have a question, will I need a monitor to get my beloved up n running or can I run it on a normal tv?
Thanks all for the add ☺️

Hey! So glad you have managed to be reunited 😀

If you’re going hdmi, this is not a bad place to start.

LiNKFOR SCART to HDMI Converter SCART + HDMI to HDMI Converter Adapter Supports RGB and CVBS Video Signals to HDMI 720P/1080P with 3.5mm Headphone Stereo Audio Compatible with HDTV STB PS3 Blu-ray DVD https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078JJMR5J/ ... M8ZP6ZTH27

You’ll also need a cable like this...

Commodore Amiga RGB 2 Metre Scart Cable with Stereo Audio by CoolNovelties https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DY62WYR/ ... UTF8&psc=1

..although you may already have one. This is just a scart cable, that will also just plug into any euro tv.

Good luck!

Hi,

usually I try to keep as much internal as possible.

For the A600 I would highly this duo:

https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop/pro ... ubler.html?

https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop/product/a604n.html

The actual Flickerfixer / Scandoubler is the ‚Indyvision ECS‘, or ‚Indy ECS‘ in short. In the A600 it requires a suitable slot, which is provided by the A604, which in turn is highly suggested anyway.

Unfortunately, the Indy ECS will only give VGA and is currently only available second hand or via e.g. AmiBay.

So happy for you. You have something special to work on here.

First step is get the capacitors replaced, before anything else is done.

I have gotten the the rgb to hdmi solution on my A500 and is simply the most amazing Amiga display I have seen on a flat panel.

As for the rest, it depends on how far you want to mod the machine.
