Folks, something seems to be affecting the site. I'm not sure the cause, or the source.

I'm looking into it.

Sometimes if you try to edit a post, or reply to a topic, you might see an Internal Server Error. I'm looking into it.

Hello,

Very strange, here is a text string that throws the server error :
errorAl.PNG
So a first empty line and a line with "set o".

If I try to save as draft or submit, it fails.
If I remove part of this, it works :P

EDIT : in fact we can replace 'o' by any char. But if there is no char after "set" it works !!!

Did you remember to feed the gerbils?

Yes, I've run into this on a number of occasions. It seems to be sensitive to basic UNIX commands that are destructive or that require root privileges, and it only happens when a line starts with a valid command. So far I've seen these commands cause the error:

--rm--
--mkfs--
--mount--

Note that I had to surround the above commands with -- so that they wouldn't generate an error.

Odd that it happens with set. That command would simply create an environment variable.

Could be some input validation and sanitization missing.
