I'm watching the latest 8-bit-guy video and in the middle of it he mentions looking for a "Commodore PC1". After a bit of websearching, I learned that C= did indeed make DOS clones.

They were in a race with Amstrad for highest volume of PC compatibles sold in Europe, they were very, very successful selling PC clones there. By 1990 Commodore no longer had a cost advantage and their share quickly eroded, but they had a good 4 year run of selling them like crazy. The PC line lingered into the 90s all the way up to 386/486 machines, but they never sold in the volume of the earlier models.

Yep I remember seeing them in the PC stores back in the day. They were also sold at the mail order houses.

I remember seeing them sold back then as the Commodore Colt or something like that. Is that the same as the one the 8bit guy is showing? I've got no time to watch that foolishness :)
