A1000 Dust/Sunlight cover?

Anyone know of a source for a decent dust and sunlight cover for an A1000? I have the standard setup, A1000 with matching Amiga monitor, and a 1010.

Sure would like to keep dust, but more so sunlight/UV off of it to minimize yellowing.

Appreciate any suggestions! Looked on eBay, but I don't think you can get anything for a PC with a CRT anymore.

Great question.

Thankfully, at least the keyboard has the garage to slide into to protect it when not in use. But for the rest of it...

This may seem extreme, but for my retro-room (which is in my basement) I actually used blue painter's tape and blocked out all UV sunlight from the exterior window. Thankfully my window is rather small. A little light can still enter the room a little through my door, though, which is frosted glass. But I do my best to minimize it.

Most of my 8-bits (including my Vectrex) have custom made black vinyl covers made by a great lady in Texas. She even has the logos stitched onto the things, which looks great.

But that doesn't include the old monitors.

What someone on Twitter encouraged me to get a few months ago was one of these. It fits a 15" monitor which should be close enough.

That doesn't do anything for the entire machine and drive on the side, but it's a good start (without just throwing a towel over everything; looking at these machines is half the fun).

Well, the towel is going to have to suffice for the time being.

I wonder if you could get your lady to give a cost for one of those black covers for the A1000? Maybe the 1010 as well?

I mean, she'd have to know the dimensions.

The story I have in my head (which could be 100% wrong, but it is what I remember) is she and her husband made covers for several old school computers and consoles. I've got one for my C64 breadbin, Vectrex and SNES. But they made them for old Atari machines and other stuff, too.

But I seem to recall hearing her husband died and she was selling off whatever stock they had. Something like that. There are a couple people who seem to have picked up that mantle, but they aren't the same, of course.

Anyway... I bet you could get an upholstery shop in your neighborhood to bust one out. That would be sick! And then you'd have "the plans"!
