This looks like an interesting plaything. Hooked up over serial it looks like an Amiga (if one were so inclined) could dial up BBSes over VoIP via a Linux box, no landline or modem required.

Interesting but a lot for the average user to configure. SIP is not that fun to get working correctly.

My choice for connecting to BBSs is using the WiFi modem emulators that exist. The WiModem232 from CBM Stuff is a great device if you want to connect to BBSs. It plugs directly into the serial port of the Amiga or any computer if you have the right cable/adapter. No SIP or separate linux box required... Plug and play for the most part and can be used by any terminal or program that supports standard hayes modem command set.

It seems to be sold out at the moment but if you send Jim Drew a message he may know when they are going to be back in stock...
