Hi all,

Since "downgrading" my A3000 to KS1.4 I've really fallen in love with the machine. It's truly an incredible computer, and so fun to use. However I do find myself missing some horsepower. Like when playing maxis games in hires-mode or emulating mac. I understand that anything above an 030 is out of the question, but I assume that an 030 accelerator would still work with KS1.4.

I know there is the Blizzard 4030 which runs at 50mhz, and that would have been perfect, but it's hard to find and unreasonably expensive. I'm wondering if anyone, who has their ear to the ground, knows of any upcoming 030 accelerators which work with the A3000? Or if anyone is planning/designing such an accelerator?

I know of TK's 040 board, and a couple of 060 boards, but the 030 seems (understandably) to be not very interesting to the A3000/A4000-owning crowd. Sad for us 1.4-users. :/

Perhaps something like a Buffee-adapter for the A3000/4000 is the most likely way to get a fast (too fast?) KS1.4 experience?

Is your A3K the 16Mhz or 25Mhz version?

It's 25mhz. 25 glorious, and hardworking, mhz. ;)

The only one I know of is this open-source alternative:

https://github.com/Sakura-IT/decelerator4030

Or just get an 040 and WHDLoad whatever kickstart you want

That looks like it might fit the bill, but it also appears to have been abandoned 6 years ago in version 0.3. :(

040 and 060 doesn't work with kickstart 1.4, and WHDLoad really doesn't help with that fact, sadly.

Check AMIGAworld on twitter: CyberBreeze 030 - A3000/A4000 accelerator with 68030@50MHz + 68882 + 64/128MB RAM.

@AXm77
I saw that but not any additional info beyond the post. Interesting for sure, though.
