Here's XM4061633NP, purchased 27 November 1986 along with a 1081 monitor from "Steve's Communication Centre", Canberra, Australia.

This being an Australian machine it is PAL. Nearly all PAL A1000's came without daughterboards. (Which, unfortunately, means they can't take advantage of the Rejuvenator.)

Spot on. It's a PAL 86.03.28 motherboard, no daughterboard. It came "from the factory" with the 1050 memory expansion cartridge already in place – so 512K of RAM out-of-the-box.

Where does kickstart load on a PAL machine then? And if I mount a kickstart rom can I remove the daughter board?
