I’d like to announce the birth of the newest Amiga 1200 in the USA... my ReAmiga 1200. She still needs her electrolytic caps added (instead of the ceramic substitute the kit came with), but otherwise, all she needs is a bath.

If I had to estimate how long it took to build, I think about 20 hours sounds about right, over the course of a few weekends.

Very NICE!!! Uhm, question: Did you do the SMD-soldering all by yourself?

Agreed - this looks absolutely fantastic. If you did all that SMD soldering yourself - then I take my hat off to you sir. :D

Yes, of course I hand soldered it. I built an A4000 last year as well, all 989 components :) . This one was a “mere” 780 or so parts :)

Getting ever so close to completion...only lacking black key caps to match the black case...

Added a GoEx drive about a year ago, then bought a "blue pill" to take advantage of the Flash Floppy OSD. I soldered a lead from the blue pill to the green output on the Amiga 1200. No more need to squint at a tiny OLED to see what ADF image is loaded, now that it is output to the monitor as an on screen display.

Also, there is a Bifrost LED board installed, and, I used one of Centuriontech's metal backplanes to attach the board to the case more firmly. It's a very nicely made product.

That is simply incredible. I tried to do a recap and fell at the first cap pulling. Love the red colour LED's.

Thanks! Gives it a menacing, Darth Vader look, IMO :) Almost kind of like there's some horrible burning thing there inside it.... 8-)

(which there just may be, if you look hard enough)
