Hello all.

In the middle of an A500 restoration, and while cleaning up the keyboard, the caps appear to be too far gone.

I have learned that it has a Samsung keyboard so not the most common Mitsumi one.

I will likely need a complete set of new caps or a new keyboard.

Does anyone know of a solution ?

The ones from the A1200.net kickstarter won’t fit as they work with the Mitsumi.

The keys I have are useable, they just look ugly and faded. I have tried retrobright, and it’s not improved things much.

Luckily my 2nd A500 has the Mitsumi keys, so I will be able to get new caps for that one.

Jason.

Correct - the Samsung caps mount differently and you cannot use them with the more common Mitsumi board:

I like the slightly different shape of the Samsung keys better, personally.

Your only option is to pay eBay prices for a complete keyboard assembly:

Or you can wait awhile for this project to restart:

Thanks.

I figured as much. My keys will still work. They just don’t look nice.

Jason.
