Visible cursor corruption on A500 Plus

Hey all,

Buying my first Amiga is one of the most pivotal moments of my childhood. After over 25 years I'm now the proud owner of an Amiga again, and I'm ecstatic about it. In my early-teens, I had an A500, and then an A1200, but both have long since been lost, pinched by relatives or binned by parents.

My 'new' machine is an A500 Plus, and it appears to operate well other than one glaring issue. Whenever there is a mouse cursor on the screen, there is some form of corruption. In the case of workbench, it appears as a dark line drawn to the left-of-the-middle of the cursor arrow - decidedly inside what I would consider being the cursor sprite. When it comes to Monkey Island, the location is the same, but it also extends from the cursor to the top of the screen, making it appear even worse.

Despite only having the machine for a week, I'm already very attached to it. If there is a way to fix it, then that is definitely what I want to do so, any guidance would be gratefully received. I'm happy to try and fix things with a bit of advice, but if there is someone who could fix it, then I would be glad to pay for such a service.

Thank you so much for any help.

What version of the Agnus is on this machine?

Do you have a ram expansion card in the trap door?

Thanks for the response, I was lucky enough to be able to swap the machine for another (from the same generous seller). :D
