Well this has been a journey.

A very short chat/tutorial about using Serial Wacom tablets in WinUAE https://youtu.be/C3yjJiV268Q

Definitely interested in people’s success with the other types of Amiga setup I don’t have access to.. AROS native, Morphos, and weird emulation/virtualisation devices like Pis and MiSTers..

Quick question @mixel. Jst tried out my new Wacom tablet in WinUAE. I can use the tablet to draw. No pressure sensitivity of course, but can draw. I can't remember if you said you had that working, do you?

Lots of variables..

For usb modern wacom tablets: no, pressure doesn’t work.. And I suspect it will never work. :( just no way to pass the pressure info from the windows drivers into the Amiga side. That’s why emulating the entire serial port is the only way I know to do it. (Not tried: emulating a USB port in WinUAE+AmigaOS using Poseidon usb stack. I have no idea if WinUAE can even do that, if it can, the much later apps with OS calls miiight work (ArtEffect & Photogenics) - but probably not even then, as it’d likely needs very specific USB wacoms from a few years back, in oppose to serial wacoms from 20 years ago, doh!

For wacom serial port tablets: Yup Pressure works, but how you activate pressure is different in each app. Which are you trying to use? And with which drivers? :) Could help you figure it out.

I was just testing things. I was not expecting pressure support, but was pleasantly surprised the pen movement worked in WinUAE. Quite often in some modern apps, especially the 3D one, pen support needs to be explicitly written for. Otherwise things get hyper sensitive. I still have my plans to get the serial tablets connected to my Amiga, but things, well you know how life goes.

Nice!
I've tried using my serial tablet with serial-to-USB adapter and Amiga Forever, but couldn't make it work. Will try with WinUAE then, maybe that will help.

By the way, there is a useful tip for those who draw. Using the service https://create.vista.com/colors/palette ... r-palette/ you can search for the right color palettes for various drawings on a graphics tablet, there are a huge number of them here. It will be very helpful :)
I recently purchased a graphics tablet from Wacom. I will say that I was very pleased. I am completely satisfied with this device for my drawing tasks, it showed its best side :)
