Hi all,

Been googling this for a while, but havent really made much progress. Hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

I recently managed to get my hands on a Vampire V500 V2+.
I'm trying to figure out out if there's anyway to connect it via the side connector of my A1000, even if it means removing the internal 68k CPU?
I just don't want to have to modify my case to get access to all the Vampire ports and would like to get back to a stock machine in a non-destructive way if needed.

I'm currently running a stock A1000 with an ACA500+ for while. Loving this combo!

Any ideas are appreciated!

Out-of-the-Box? No way.

What you could try: there are adapters to use an accelerator for the 68k-CPU-socket in an A2000.
You might use a genderchanger and be almost there. The Co-Processor (‚CPU‘)-Slot of the A2000 is almost the same as the A500 expansion port except 1 or two pins. These two are critical, though, as it’s about 12volt!!!

How about a replacement backplate like this one?

Got to be better than the ethernet and hdmi cables I've got jammed through the expansion port of my Vampired A1000.

Amigalove has a video on how he used a cpu relocator board and 2 cpu sockets yo move and elevate the vampire for the 1000. Tight but works great.
