I bought a Parceiro earlier this year which was sent via USPS to Italy. The USPS tracking still shows it being held at customs, but it's in my hands really (I received it a couple of weeks after it entered customs).
The main disadvantage of USPS is that once the package enters foreign territory it is handled by the local carriers (I think Deutsche Post in this case) so you often lose track of it until it reaches the final recipient.
It's a good sign it made it to Germany nevertheless
