Honestly given you can still get LC rev4s for $50 i think they blow away any 030 chip. I know a few people say games compatibility is an issue but if you're using MMULib + WHDLoad you arent going to see many issues. really if you do it right the 060 route has no compatibility issues.
agree 100% Steve other than the LC 060's as watching the best Amiga 060 specific demos ain't happening without an FPU on board

so from my understanding the 060 won’t recognize a 6882 FPU when installed directly on the A1200 motherboard BUT it will recognize it with an 030 installed?

Has someone tried this with an LC060 on TF1260?

AlenPPC tried this with the TF1230. It works. The 060 doesnt have a coprocessor interface and doesnt work. Alen also tested this but it was pretty obvious.

ah cool thanks! It seems like a safe mod to make if you have. 6882 around your workbench ;-)

The TF1260 got an upgrade to a full fat 060 (Rev 5). Time for some 060/FPU demo action.

Great stuff enjoy! I've got a Rev5 inside my TF1260 but it unfortunately won't run stable if I try overclocking it & I tried them all so it's still at 50Mhz and running happy

Let me know if you can get you're Rev5 to overclock stabely...so far from what I've heard Rev1 and Rev5 mostly aren't happy over 50Mhz with the latest firmware

It will run at 62.5 but not anything beyond. Same as the Rev4 LC part I was using prior.

I am still on the original TF FW as I don't have the means to update it.

ah ok then even my Rev1 was able to run at 62.5 stable with the original firmware but with the latest firmware update both my Rev1 and Rev5 only run stable at 50.

btw, if you're interested in upgrading the firmware on your own this is how I ended up doing it http://mancave-ramblings.blogspot.com/2021/12/

you can also send the TF1260 to the seller that sold you it and they can update the firmware for a very fair fee
