Hello,

Any suggestion as to what fan I can get to replace the PSU fan?

I will double-check, but I believe this is a very good aftermarket replacement that matches the original very closely for $18. It's even made of metal like the original fan. I think the original fan blades were slightly bigger, but this replacement spins slightly faster (2,000 RPM).

As a comparison, I found an original OEM version of the fans a few years ago and they were asking close to $100. So... yeah.

You can watch someone installing this fan in their own A1000 here.

I haven't done this upgrade myself personally. I've been thinking about it, but wanted to see more on this fan first as it's not silent like the original.

Here's one that I found at Digikey. Air flow is 21.2 CFM, and the noise level is 21 db, but I'm not sure how that compares to the original fan. It's also a little pricey at $47.47.

The one I found in the link above is rated at 28 dBA. I can say that from watching the video, it's not silent. That being said, the Noctua fans (like the one in Jan Beta's video) are rated at 17.7 dBA. I've used a few of those in other machines and they are quite nice.

I'll see if I can find the original fan replacement that was uber expensive to get its specs.

I believe these are the specs of the original fan, which has a sound rating of 10 dBA (probably well below what my ears can even hear these days).
AC Fan Ball Bearing
115V 0.05A
5W/4W
50Hz/60Hz
1350RPM/1550RPM
12.71CFM/14.83CFM
10dB/11dB
Flange
Impressive.

Ah, yes. Here it is.

The $75 fan.

Actually, that says "126LH-0282" and the original says "126LH-2182" although the specs appear to be identical.

This looks almost identical to my original. I've sent them a note to ask if they know the dBA rating.

If it's 10, ding ding ding!
