Hello,

I recently acquired an Amiga 1000 with this Spirit memory expansion installed:

It seems to be similar to this, maybe a newer revision? Inboard 1000

I haven't been able to find any documentation for the version I have so I don't know where the purple wire with the quick connect clip is supposed to go. Does anyone have documentation for this board or know where that wire connects to?

Thanks.

Its an insider. They came with ZIP or DRAM during its life. You may be missing the 2nd wire. Many people used to cut the clip off and solder it directly because its a pain in the butt removing the daughterboard to clip it.

Thanks for the reply.

Mine is similar to the Inboard 1000, but there are differences (most notably, single wire vs. two wires, there doesn't appear to be a second wire that is missing).

I can't find a single reference to the board I have anywhere online.

FWIW I showed your picture to my friend and site member Christian who is a walking Amiga hardware database, and he was stumped. And intrigued.

Interesting.

In any case, I was able to get it back up and running by attaching it to the same location that J1 would attach to on the IN1000.

If Dumps board is in fact newer, it looks maybe like a cost reduced version using larger and maybe faster ZIPs, and different (more condensed?) logic.

Perhaps they were able to remove the requirement on the XRDY (J2) signal by using faster ZIPs.

Or maybe it's an older prototype?

Both versions shown here
