Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knew which programs support/use networked Amigas? I am aware of Lightwave, and heard that a version of Scala supported networks, but are there any others?

Thanks

What kind of awareness are you looking for?

The strong integration of online services into very many applications is a relatively recent phenomenon. Back in the 1990s that certainly wasn't a thing.

As a result, pretty much only programs specifically intended to perform some networking function would talk to the network.

And of course the Amiga never came with a networking stack or networking hardware.

A notable exception is WHDLoad, which does do an online version check (but this is of course something still in active development today). But... WHDLoad can't handle the interrupts generated by the network hardware, so it doesn't work if you have a network cable plugged in. Really strange.

Really depends on „network aware functionality“.

You could use SMB-FS and have almost every program access network shares.

WHDLoad was mentioned already, including the weird design 😆.
