Awesome and unexpected news: "Kev_G" of Towerbyte Developments (UK) has ported the Atari classic arcade game Missile Command to the Amiga.

It is free for download here (scroll to the bottom of the page).

It looks and sounds exactly like the original. I'd have to think using a mouse would be a tad easier than a trackball these days, but it's still a brutally hard, and fun, game.

The only requirements are an Amiga with 512KB.

I asked Kev_G if that meant it would work on OS 1.3, and NTSC.

Kev_G:
Hi Amiga Love. It was a lot of hard work but it was worth it. It 'should' be OK on NTSC as the screen height is 210 pixels. Yes it works on OS 1.3 but plays much smoother on something a bit quicker.
Pretty cool!

Ok this came completely unexpected 😆.

This news is wonderful in quite a few ways.

Played Missile Command back then on my Atari 2600. Right now I must resist the urge to play it on my 7800 that I still have 😂.

The it’s great to have it on the Amiga.

And even better - it runs on 1.x!
