It has been confirmed that both of these sites have been hacked with root access to the servers. When they get back online I will for sure be changing my password.

It was confirmed in the Lemon64 Facebook page. Sorry I can't post a link...

LemonAmiga is back up. You can go change your credentials over there right now (I just did).

They have a short bulletin there, too.

15+ year old software is just not ok when its accessible on the internet. A hacked server could be used for alot more than just stealing data from.

Totally agree, there is no possible reason why they should of used such old software.

The good news is that, according to their facebook group, they are completely re-doing Lemon64 with modern forum software and website. That is apparently why it is taking so long. Not sure if they are going to do the same to LemonAmiga but I think that site was already partially upgraded. Apparently Kim Lemon is back to helping.

EDIT: The changes they made were not to the forum. That said, they are working on rolling out a new modern site soon for Lemon Amiga, according to the website thread.

@zippyzapp,

Yeah, I'm not so sure LemonAmiga was upgraded. I mean, they are still running http, not https.

That very likely helped make them a target in the first place.

I should have been clearer when I said partially. They did not upgrade it to anything modern but, from what I read, somewhat recently they upgraded the layout. Apparently it wasn't enough to do that and fend off attackers more of a usability upgrade if I read correctly.

Hopefully they modernize that site too.

EDIT: So apparently it was a preview. The rest was just usability and it was not for the forum. That said he did say that they are rolling out a new modernized site for Lemon Amiga too.
