If you grew up in the 1980s there is a strong likelihood that at some stage you were inspired to write a program into your Vic 20, Commodore 64 or Amiga Computer. You either looked in the back of magazines for a short program to painstakingly copy, or you found a book at the library (usually in vain or way over your head).
The Usborne Electronics series of programming books were simply brilliant and aimed directly at kids. Gorgeously illustrated, they opened the world to programming in highly imaginative ways. Andnow, many of those books are free to download in PDF form.
