My son and I did our best to defeat the alien enemies - but holy smoke. What a hard game!
After my thumb cramps (didn't take long) I realized I should have pulled out my Monster Joystick.
I pulled out my never-used NOS TAC-2 because my Retrogameboyz game pad has started to malfunction after a few years of use. I took it apart and cleaned all of the contacts but I think I'm going to have to send it back for a deeper repair.

yes the soundtrack is amazing!
I spent many late nights in my first apartment in the late 1980s playing this one. Back then I could pretty consistently get past the first wave of submarines on level 2..many times a lot farther.
That is one of my favorite games in that genre on any machine.
Many people like Battle Squadron better, but not me. This one is better balanced, IMO.
