Yes, that's my 'Paladin' - I couldn't resist giving my Phoenix a name. :)

While amazing if compared to the tech from the time back then it still is an old machine.
So I minimize the setup for efficiency. The whole system has 17MB, only in the screenshot it's more because I copied the mp3 over which I am playing.
At 17MB I have little if any resource hog in there ;)

I love the name, I need to think up names for my babies!

Is that WB1.3 or 2.x?

The Phoenix has 4 Kickstarts, so I have 1.3,2.05(WB2.1),3.1(modded) and 3.9.
The screenshot is from my 3.1MUI/VisualPrefs/MagicWB/RTG-Setup. The FileManager is RO.

I assume you can only install one version of WB to HDD? How do you deal with that?

I have 6 partitions on my drive.
In a first startup-sequence I check for the version of exec.
Depending on the version I set a different partition as SYS: and boot from that.
Two more partitions for exchange.

I tend to run a similar trend in my workbench setup...and my windows PC's as well...

Here's my A4000T Workbench running 1280x720 (16bit) on a Cybervision 64/3D card.

And my Amithlon Workbench running 1280x720 (32bit) on a supported graphics card.

This thread's become very interesting, I'm loving all the WB3.9 setup's - Must....Resist..... ;)

One of the benefits of my A1200 setup with an ACA1232 accelerator is that I have the Maprom function, so it's very easy to run any ROM I like. My A1200's physically fitted with 3.0 ROMs but I run 3.1 in Maprom.

How does 3.9 run on the Phoenix McTrinsic? Now I know why you have 2MB of fast ram!

On the Phoenix OS3.9 feels a bit slow but it's ok. The 2MB are ChipRAM, though. For OS3.9 I always use my accelerator with an 68030@50MHz and 32MB FastRAM.

I boot off a CF Card on my A4000T and have one for 3.1 and 3.9. I don't honestly remember much of a difference in performance feel between the two.

Which reminds me I need to rebuild my 3.1 setup since replacing the Picasso II card with the Cybervision 64/3d card.

Here's a shot of a Workbench 3.1 setup I have in FS-UAE. It's not nearly as nice as my 3.9 setup; this one has MagicWB installed but I haven't gotten to really get it fixed up yet. As the main volume says, this is an emulated A4000 in NTSC mode with only 2MB Chip RAM and 16MB Fast RAM.

The wider looking screen is from setting the overscan to take up the extra screen real estate offered by a wider monitor.
