If I remember correctly from back in the 90s you could get an external hard drive for the Amiga, correct?
Yes, there were a few excellent options which - if you look hard enough - you might find.
One would be the GVP Impact A500 HD8+ Series II
. GVP did a very nice job of making it match the 500's case, too. I've not done it myself, but I've read it's possible to even swap out the internal (large, heavy, loud, but cool) mechanical SCSI HDD with a SCSI2SD card, and just add a 2-4gb sd micro (which is a massive ton of space). It can also hold up to 8MB Fast RAM. Really nice device. There are various versions of the internal ROM chip, which are worth keeping in mind.
There's also the Amiga A590 external drive option
. It can also hold 2MB Fast RAM.
There are probably a lot more than this, but these are the 2 that immediately come to mind for me as "classic" external attachments.
A new external device you might want to research, however, is the ACA500+
, which is brand new and remarkable indeed.
