TRIPOS (large image heavy)

by BloodyCactus Sun Apr 29, 2018 6:22 am

So, a long time ago I scanned this article on TRIPOS from one of my (maybe 1986?) Australian Personal Computer mags when I visited home back in like 2012. Its pretty interesting to read about the guts of Amiga OS that you dont normally hear about! (sorry for the not great digital cam photos lol). I think I have the page order correct.

This article really does go well in-depth to show how TRIPOS (and Amiga DOS in turn) work! Looking at it, TRIPOS was a pretty well laid out operating system in its own right, so perhaps Commodore and the Amiga engineers were right in using it as an underlying basis for the Amiga.
Own: Amiga 500 (NTSC), Amiga 4000, Amiga 600 (PAL), Mac Mini G4 & iBook G4 (MorphOS), ThinkPad T40 (AROS), R.Pi3 (Amibian)
After: Amiga 1200
