hello friends

my coworker went to a salvation army near where i work, and showed me pictures of a macintosh performa 5200CD in a box
after i looked up what that was, i went and bought it immediately
it boots fine! (says august 26 1956)

comes with:
keyboard / mouse
14.4k modem
gravis gamepad (with original receipt)
16mb ram upgrade (to 24mb) in 1997 (with receipt)
all original CDs and manuals

missing cd eject button :(

original price tag: $2999

i will open it up in a few days to have a look at the internals

That is VERY cool! I wonder if it can handle:

- Diablo 1
- Dungeon Master II

Can't wait to see more pics and stats! I wonder how far you can max that CPU?

Very cool. Despite the flack they get for that era I actually like those years of Macintosh. Make sure you check to make sure the battery hasn't leaked. Those units are pretty easy to get the motherboard out. 2 screws and it slides out on a sled. Probably not leaked because IIRC it uses one of those square 4.5v clock batteries. Easily replaced though with a 3xAAA holder.
