What is the full value of these resistors? Are they 1/4W, 1/2W? What's the Tolerance? 1%, 5%? What's the Composition? Thin Film, Thick Film?
1/4 watt is fine. Any resistance between 3-50k should work, so tolerance shouldn’t matter.

Don’t overthink the rest. Good luck with your adapters. ;)

Has anybody used this kickstart switcher on a A2000. Are there mods needed to be much like the A1000...just curious.

Tuxbar81 on Amibay has a nice A2000 kickstart switcher. Just plug it in and connect a wire to one pin.

I just acquired an a1000. Anyone willing to send me one of their spare PCBs? I'll cover the cost of course. I'm in Canada.

Hi chaps,

Just got my self an A1000 and need to bring it up to a spec I can live with, does any one have a spare board they can send me? I don't really have a need for a large quantity :-)

Based in UK atm thanks

Thanks for sharing. I just ordered 10 PCBs from JLCPCB...so if anyone would like any of the extras after I build and confirm that one works, send me a PM.

Soldered it up...now to open the 1000 and do the required mods so I can say goodbye to the kickstart disk.

Success! I thought I had 4.7k resistors in hand, but was mistaken, and had to wait forever for an eBay seller to ship me a 100 pack of them. They arrived today, and I was then able to do the needed mod to the motherboard (solder resistor between pins 1 & 20 of the designated IC on the daughter board).

I cut no traces and bent no pins to do this mod — instead, I desoldered the required IC, got a socket, pulled out the socket’s pin that was not to be connected (the one connected to the trace to be cut), and put the IC, completely intact (instead of bending out one of its legs) back into its place. No need to destroy or otherwise damage your vintage hardware.
