@geekpower BOM that he shared, I thought I'd reference some pricing as I'm working through this:
1. PCBWay 5 board minimum - $55/board
2. Bunch of
parts from Mouser - $60/board
3. Bunch of parts from eBay (for 5 boards) - $23 (0.1uF 16V caps) + $18 (MC74F257AN) + $55 (SOJ to DIP20 converters) + $15 (IC clip leads) = $111 / 5 units = ~$22/board
4. GALs from Amazon (for 5 boards) - $30 (GAL20V8B-15) + $13 (ATF16V8-15) = $43 / 5 units = $9/board
5. Unlike geekpower, I chose to source some items directly from China (which I may regret)
- 74ALS373 = $1.50/board
- MSM514400D-60 DRAM SOJ (2MB total/board) = $5/board
- pin headers 2.54mm spacing 17.8mm long = $5/board
- PLCC 84-pin socket (for Agnus) = $1/board
- DIP-18, DIP-20, DIP-24, DIP-40, and DIP-48 sockets = $5/board
Total is roughly $169/board in parts costs
These (
on Amibay) are selling assembled for $420+shipping (minus custom-chips and RAM), which is a decent mark-up although I assume it takes quite a lengthy time to build and test one fully before shipping. Listing
