I'm considering getting AmigaOS 3.2 for my A1200, but I'll obviously need a CD-ROM drive to install it. Does anyone know of a good source for A1200-compatible IDE drives other than eBay?

AmiBay, I suppose.

Other than that, you technically don’t need the CD. You could copy the contents to an SD or CF if it helps and go from there.

You may need to create an assign for the CD name to the folder where the files are copied.

Ah, thanks for the advice. I'm still re-learning the Amiga, apparently. That's a much more economical approach than shelling out the big bucks for a rickety vintage optical drive.

Heh, I was seeing posts from folks talking about installing CD-based software and wondering how they're managing that when compatible -- and working! -- CD drives seem as rare as Canon Cats these days  .
